Syracuse City School District After School Programs

The Westcott Community Center provides a variety of quality after-school services to youth in the Syracuse City School District. Serving over 1000 youth each year at 6 locations, we are committed to student success. Enrichment services are provided at 5 school locations: Webster Elementary, Ed Smith Pre-K-8, Clary Middle, Huntington Pre-K-8, and Le Moyne Elementary. We work closely with the Syracuse City School District (SCSD) to ensure students are engaged in meaningful enrichment services that compliment and expand on core curriculum.

Kids’ Club After-School Program

Our in-house after-school program, Kids’ Club is a FREE after-school program for youth between the ages of 8 and 14. Kids’ Club operates Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm, in accordance with the SCSD calendar. We begin with targeted tutoring where our staff and volunteers from local colleges (including Syracuse University, Le Moyne, and SUNY O.C.C.) work directly with the children to help them achieve their academic goals. We focus on areas of necessity as identified by each youth’s teacher and parents. Tutoring is followed by a healthy snack and enrichment-activities that compliment core curriculum and engage student learning and curiosity. Field trips, celebrations, community volunteerism opportunities and strong parent involvement and support, are components of this program that make it so special.
