Serving the needs of the community

welcome!

The Super Sitter’s Club is a job training initiative for youth ages 11 years and older that was launched in response to the results of ongoing community surveying by the Westcott Community Center.  Community members consistently noted the need for more teen programming and economic opportunities in the neighborhood.  Through the Super Sitter’s, Club, youth enrolled in the Westcott Community Center After School Program and youth from across Syracuse have the chance to become certified in-home childcare providers and essentially start their own businesses.

The members of the Super Sitter's Club would like to thank the Onondaga-Oswego Chapter of the American Red Cross, The New York State Center for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and the Onondaga County Public Health Department for their tremendous commitment and support.

The Summer Sitter’s Club is an effort being led by the Americorps VISTA Volunteers serving with the Westcott Community Center Arts & Education Project located at 113 Lexington Avenue, Syracuse, NY.  For more information, please contact Jenifer Kolanage (email) or at 315-218-0218.

The Community Art and Education Project is funded by the Corporation for national and community service .
